That was horrible to read. I’m not sure they believe in punctuation.

I think he's an older fella, and if he's anything like my father the above is pretty par for the course.

A little less fun than that :)
![]() 04/12/2016 at 12:11 |

Hmm, a rusty 1.3 convertible somebody used to transport their dog. My guess is a MK3/4 Ford Escort 1.3 convertable

punctuation is a tool of the devil who needs punctuation anyway you must be some sort of communist who hates nice things

Something that will soon be painted NATO green to join its two larger not-quite-siblings?
![]() 04/12/2016 at 12:17 |

I’m guessing a Fiat Uno.

Not very well versed in used cars in England. Google leads to a Suzuki Jimny or Piaggio Porter (whatever that might be)

Piaggio Porter is closest so far, certainly in terms of utility.

Some kind of ____ Rover.

A Mercedes Benz G-wagon convertible? Or a unimog. Doesn’t get more utilitarian german than that.

Old VW Caddy?
![]() 04/12/2016 at 12:43 |

I looked - I don’t think either came with a 1.3 petrol engine. My guess is a VW Caddy
![]() 04/12/2016 at 12:43 |

Yes, for $100,000 one probably can have too many. At least I don’t have that issue.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 12:44 |

Right family, wrong vehicle.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 12:45 |

Could have been a typo, however I think you are right, just completely forgot about them. Mostly due to its direct successor, which was just a rebadged Toyota.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 12:45 |
|
Got it, it’s the Caddy.

Yes indeed!
![]() 04/12/2016 at 13:02 |

A Skoda Felicia pickup, as guessed by Thebloody and Mr. Laurence. You guessed good though.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 13:02 |

probably can have too many
And
YOU

Seriously though, $100,000 for a 1997 Defender V8. Say it out loud. One hundred grand. For a Defender.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 14:10 |
|
But think about how many normal Defenders a $100000 could buy... Besides people only buy those so they can brag about how much money they paid for a Defender.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 14:14 |
|
£70k... I could have 10 in OK condition, or 5 in good to excellent :D
![]() 04/12/2016 at 14:16 |
|
Exactly.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 14:22 |

Or maybe just that 130 pickup that keeps haunting my dreams
![]() 04/12/2016 at 14:25 |
|
130 on portal axles... Swoon...
![]() 04/12/2016 at 14:29 |
|
I’ll get there. Buy Skoda first, help build the business, make more monies, buy 130 pickup. Logical steps, as per my business plan.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 14:45 |

I don’t think we’re hiring right now, already overstaffed as it is.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 15:23 |

PLEAAAAASE???
![]() 04/12/2016 at 16:00 |
|
Well, you’ve already been banned, so I don’t really see it happening.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 16:30 |
|
Yes! We had a Felicia hatch and it was terrible and great at the same time. Basically invincible and can be fun if you drive it like a loon, but also as basic as motoring gets and fairly uncomfortable.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 16:35 |
|
I may be buying it, but it’s not for me. The girls trash about in a V70 D5, but refuse to pull a trailer for collecting plants (leaving me having to collect, time out of a job yada yada), so if all is good I’m gonna pick it up, fix it up (I think the starting issue is just the crank sensor), paint it up, stick it OTR with some branding and Bob’s your uncle, canny little herbaceous perennial and tree hauler.
So, what are you doing Saturday morning? Because it’s in Spennymoor :)
![]() 04/12/2016 at 16:39 |
|
Haha fair enough, will make a great work truck those 1.3 engines are something else. Rough as all hell but they just run and run and run. We never serviced ours, not once... I think I’m free Saturday unless I get called into work, not scheduled in as far as I know. Been working longish hours start of the week so I can have my weekend haha.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 16:39 |
|
What do you mean by that?
![]() 04/12/2016 at 16:49 |
|
Well not to bother, it was just in case I get stabbed for £300 and a Skoda by some rural numptie with a couple of screws loose.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 16:52 |
|
I have to admit, checking out a questionable old skoda sold by an odd person is exactly the kind of Saturday I often have.

You’ll never get authorship. Also no one here will ever get a notification that you commented. Also we know who you are.
![]() 04/12/2016 at 17:54 |
|
Who?
![]() 04/12/2016 at 20:30 |
|
“German” - Skoda is Czech? VW owns MODERN Skoda, so MODERN Skoda is German (in that sense), but the Felicia was the last Skoda on their own platform, and not one of VW...?
Awesome choice though! :D
![]() 04/12/2016 at 21:09 |

VW took full control in 1994, and actually became 30% partners in 1990, so while this '98 version has a Czech 1.3 motor and was built in the Czech Republic, both the 1.6 petrol and 1.9 diesel are German units, and the Felicia is based on the MK2 VW Caddy.
Swings and roundabouts, 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.
